Following U.S. Travel’s Travel Works Capitol Hill stop, members of U.S. Travel’s staff hit the road to visit Baltimore’s Inner Harbor—where representatives from U.S. Travel, Visit Baltimore and the National Aquarium handed out refreshments and spread the word about travel’s role in powering Charm City. The city deeply understands the positive impact of the industry—one that brought over 24.3 million people to the city in 2021, adding a total of $2.7 billion to the city’s economy. In addition to leisure travelers, the city also continues to feel the positive impact of business travelers—as visitors to the Baltimore Convention Center brought a total of $90 million in economic impact in 2021. Through conversations with locals, residents and visitors, U.S. Travel’s team pointed to data to illustrate the elevated importance of travel to B-more and beyond. The event attracted dozens of visitors and locals and sought to educate the community about the importance of the industry.
